Noah mentions in episode six of Kill the Lights: More Than Just an Athlete that he is interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. Noah was able to work at Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas this past summer. This career field will suit him well. He does have a passion for the industry, much like his father, who has been in the industry for 30 years. Because Noah is a college athlete, this has made him successful in the industry. It was easy to tell that he was looking forward to returning to Red Rock after graduation. The skills Noah has obtained from being associated with an athletic team on campus ultimately set him up for the real world. Noah’s previous experience in the field will also help him out, as he mentioned that he was able to work with his dad a few times before, providing a glimpse into the field. Noah is the perfect candidate for the hospitality industry with his passionate attitude, willingness to help, and ability to work with anyone. I believe that all these skills come from being a college athlete. These characteristics are what most athletes have, and association with a team on campus brings out the best in everyone. Do you think that athletes are conditioned in college to live up to the expectations of the real world? Since athletes are on a strict schedule and have many different commitments that they must commit to, I believe that they are setting themselves up to be successful once they’re out on their own. What qualities do you believe athletes gain from involvement in collegiate athletics?
